There are so many scholarships around for students interested in rural health that it can get a bit confusing. That’s why we’re running a scholarships and conference funding information session. Come along on Thursday the 4th of March so you don’t miss out on all the fabulous opportunities out there. To be held in SGS rooms 6 and 7 for medicine students and Matthew theatres for allied health students from 5:15 – 6pm.
Right after the info sessions we are holding a welcome event to ring in the RAHMS new year. So come on over to the Royal Hotel in Randwick (the big old pub up the hill from uni) for some free food and some good old mingling with your fellow RAHMers! The event kicks off at 6:30pm if you’re heading straight there, or if you come to the info sessions we’ll walk you up!

UNSW kids in their first, second or third year of university in 2010 can now apply for a place in the John Flynn Placement Program. What is it? Your chance to spend two weeks a year in a fantastic rural community like Kakadu or Alice Springs getting more clinical experience than you’ll ever get at uni… and you’re paid to do it! You’re in luck too. Places have doubled! Get in quick and do a great application! For more info go to the NRHSN Website, otherwise RAHMS (us!) will have an information session on March 9 where you can hear about the experiences of 3 students in the program and get some great info and tips on applying!
